!!!Syndaar's Main Myths
Once lives on Samoth a civilization having reached an impressive degree of knowledge and wisdom. Unfortunately, their island fell victim of a cataclysm and the Synaar (or Syndaar, in some translations) were separated, dispersed. Only remains of their antique lore these legends, painstakingly reconstituted.
!!First-Myth According to very ancient, oral legends (which in fact means that the tellers, senile, amnesic, or dead can't remember who taught them the stories), the oh-so-peculiar shape of the disc is not due to randomness, nor any concurrence of circumstances with no direct cause, but to a child tantrum.
In fact, ZzZ, the Ultimate Marmottoid God, to calm a very-upset baby-god and finish his nap in peace, gave him a spinning top. The lower part of the top would have been worn down with too many spins, but to this day, the ghost-shape of this toy are visible in the of Samoth.
!!Second-Myth Samoth would not be the only world created by ZzZ and inhabited by intelligent creatures (or who considered themselves as such, despite their inability to stop trying to kill each other for more than two seconds.) So, the plane of reality would contain other worlds than Samoth. As for knowing how to reach them one day, if indeed they exist, some loony theologists claim that once you've reached the border of the Disc, you do not fall into void, but you start drifting into some kind of iridescent ether that joins all the worlds together. Strangely enough, they don't show any intention to try by themselves. These infamous theologists that uphold the veracity of the Second-Myth are the same that claim they have been kidnapped by strange, phosphorescent beings, with a black, vitreous thingy on their face and a bizarre gait. They even say that weird lights can be seen sometimes at night, especially in the 51 zone, according to the Cartography Guild's official cartography, guild based in the heights of the Bloody High Mount.
!!Third-Myth According to this myth, the Bloody High Mount is in fact a giant termitary, inhabited by no less giant and carnivorous termites. It would the reason why, and not the Gods' presence – who would be only fables -, the Central Peak is so desert. Of course, all the priest of the different gods, for once unanimous, actively seek to eradicate all and any belief in this myth.
!!Fourth-myth According to this myth, Zzz is not the only being having creating worlds; in the ancient times when nothing existed, appeared Zzz, the Ultimate Marmottoid God 'and''' a great, gangling green grog (try and say it really quickly…) clothed in green rompers. This nameless frog, if only Fourth-Myth, would have created its own world, a cubic, closed place, decorated like a child's room.
!!Fifth-myth In the beginning, Zzz would have created only one continent, Vitellus, in the centre of which raised proudly the Bloody High Mount. At that time, the latter was a very nice volcano, who warned the inhabitants of its next flow of saliva, er, of lava, and let them farm its slopes.
Unfortunately, it caught a cold and was retching with violent coughing (the expression "a fit of cough" exists since this day). It ended cracking the continent, sending the morsels drifting on the Ocean of the Fried Egg, and propelling lava and pumices into very corners of the Disc (!). So ended the Syndaar civilization.
